The course introduces theory through lectures and guided critique of philosophical, literary, and popular texts drawn from a wide variety of genres suited to the theme at hand. We will also analyse thematically relevant and popular art in film and music. The end result is a steady-paced and systematic unfolding of human thought, care, and concern for those universal and undying human questions.

This 2-part humanities course summarises for you a decade of our study of the world and the human condition. We take you step-by-step through major thinkers, theories, and disciplines that have come to shape our world, narrating to you the stories of our past that lead to our present. This course provides an accessible, university-level introduction to the humanities and social sciences, giving you the tools to understand and analyse the world we live in.
